Pole Dancing…It’s An Obsession

It’s no secret we are addicted to pole dancing! Once we started, we realised it's a fun way to move your body, build strength and feel confident. Most women find pole dancing through social media, hens parties or movies (who else saw J-Lo rock the pole?). It immediately leaves women in awe and admiration for the strength and stamina it takes to create the shapes and combos we do.

But there are so many more reasons why we are addicted to pole dancing, and we need to share. We have been talking to our community recently and these are the most common responses:

1. Self-confidence and self ACCEPTANCE:

The gift you didn’t quite know you were getting when you start your pole dancing journey….self-confidence. One of the greatest gifts of them all. When you learn new moves, you feel proud,confident and you build trust with your own body. It makes you feel like you can do anything! With every pole dancing class you’re boosting not only your physical strength but your mental strength and confidence all through achievement.

As our pole sisters progress through their journey and their confidence grows, we see them become more comfortable in their own skin. Most of the time, this is reflected in what they wear to in classes. Whether it’s wearing something to embrace their sexual side of pole or just wearing their first pair of booty shorts (it’s a big deal for some). That's the power of pole dancing – it boosts your confidence sky-high! With every spin and climb, you become more confident, knowing that you're capable of achieving incredible things. And the more you fall in love with pole, the more you will fall in love with yourself.

2. Community and friendships:

If you want to pole dance but can not convenience a friend to come with you, you are not alone! Many of the women in our studio, start of their pole dancing journey solo. But one of the best parts about pole dancing is the sense of belonging and the community you become a part of when joining a pole studio.

While we join for the fitness - we stay for the strong sense of sisterhood and finding ‘our people’.

This community has a very unique in the way it can bring people from all different walks of life together who have the same shared passion.

There is of course a stimga that comes from pole dancing as a sport, however, this has led to stronger sense of community, and shared respect within the community, as well as a common desire to change the narrative to how pole dancing can be perceived.

3. A Fun Fitness Alternative :

We all know the fitness cycle…50% of people drop out of exercise routines in the first 6 months. Although pole is not exempt from this, it is absolutely a more fun fitness alternative than your traditional gym. Unlike a traditional gym, community makes a huge difference to the student experience where we see classes become cheerleaders and an unbreakable support network.

Every pole session increases strength and flexibility but also… body image and confidence. So many women in our community share how amazed they are by not only the speed of their progress but are surprised by just what their bodies are capable of. Due to the nature of this sport, when working with heights and difficult tricks, there is such a strong sense of connection between the mind and body that is formed in every close.
