What is holding you back in your pole journey?

The Uncovered podcast has dived a little DEEP. I had the opportunity to pick the brains of two very amazing guests, Mon and Jess, to uncover fear and mindset in your pole journey!

Being a studio owner has given me a unique perspective on pole journies. I am fortunate enough to see many women go on this experience, and I can see where fear or mindset can come into play. That said, there I am almost sure you have had this experience too.

When we think of fear, it can come out in a few different ways....

... fear of starting your pole journey

... fear of being judged

... fear of going upside down

... fear after a fall

And the list goes on...

If you have ever experienced this fear YOU ARE NOT ALONE. The key to overcoming can include retraining your brain. Here are four steps to get you started:

1️⃣ Recognise the fear

2️⃣ Accept it exists

3️⃣ Evaluate where the fear has come from

4️⃣ Introduce safe measures

These four steps have a lot to do with your mindset, too! Which made having these two episodes back to back EVEN BETTER.

When delving into mindset, I uncovered two particular areas with Jess:

Consistency and Comparison!

Again, I have seen many students struggle with these two areas in their pole journey. Either it's hard to stay "motivated" to a particular goal, or you just can't help but compare yourself or your journey to a pole sister!

The first step in your mindset journey is REFLECTION. Yes, we need to take stock of ourselves. And this works for both consistency and comparison. If this seems scary to you, you are not alone. So many people cringe or get anxious, looking inwards. IT DOES GET BETTER WITH PRACTICE. When you start your reflection journey, remember to be kind to yourself there and speak to yourself like you would a friend.
