Meet The Ormeau Team

My name is Nomes (Naomi to the government agencies) and I’m the Owner and Pole Mum here at Addictive Pole Fitness – Ormeau.

I had been watching a friend’s pole journey and was dying to give it a whirl, but at five months pregnant with baby #2, it felt like a long time to wait before I could take that big step and walk in the front door. Soon after getting clearance to start exercising, I signed up for an eight week course in 2015 and I’ve been addicted ever since!

I have always had a strong dislike for exercising. I had joined the gym, and never went. Bought a machine, and never used it. Went for walks, but never got my heart rate up. I had a fear of sweating. Pole was different, the more I entertained the thought of going, the more curious I got. I was worried about my size, I had concerns about how much my body could actually achieve after having two babies 12 months apart. I was worried about wearing the shortest pair of pants I had ever owned! I always felt uncoordinated and self conscious that people were watching me. When I joined pole, it was like all those worries twirled out the door on their pretty little pointed toes and never came back!

I joined pole for the fitness, and have since fallen in love with all that pole brings – the fitness, the shoes, the challenges, the changes in my body, the friendships, the physical and mental strength,  the sexiness, the confidence, the pole clothes and did we mention the shoes?!

I have dabbled in a few different areas of work over the years, I have a Diploma in Wedding and Events Management, I obtained my Cert IV in Beauty Services and Nail Technology, I sampled the administration workforce, and  while I enjoyed each little journey, it was when I started instructing at APF that I really felt alive. When the opportunity arose to franchise under the studio that I loved so much, I jumped at it! It was my light bulb moment. I had finally, at age 27, found my calling. I knew I wanted to extend, grow on and share my motherly qualities as a Pole Mum. I want to inspire women the same way APF has inspired me  – to grow as a person, work on their fitness, learn to love their body, appreciate what it can do and become healthy minded while making some new friends in the process.

Life is busy, my husband has a trade business, I have two beautiful little boys that definitely keep me on my toes, but I knew it was time to find a little something for myself. Something that gave me the break away from the daily grind as a stay at home mum singing Paw Patrol theme songs and playing Power Rangers.

Now, It’s Time For You 🙂

My name is Alicia and I’ve been a personal trainer since 2002. I’ve been on a bit of a break after having my third child and am looking forward to teaching again.

I love teaching group fitness especially Yoga and Pilates as anyone can participate in these activities and although they are gentle, you still get a great workout. But believe me, I will make your muscles really burn in my strength training class! I look forward to meeting you all this term! 🙂

Pole dance is a form of performance art, which combines dance and acrobatics, centred on a vertical pole.

In January 2015 I entered the doors to an unknown world……this world was full of poles, loud music, beautiful inviting faces and new challenges.
Pole dancing has been a saving grace for me. It incorporates muscle strengthening and conditioning and toning along with fun dance routines and tricks I never in my wildest dreams would think my body would be capable of.
Since starting pole I have never looked back! My body is so strong and my mind is even stronger.
The body ACHIEVES what the mind BELIEVES……
This is a statement I stand by because pole dancing has taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to.
I am Dominique – Also known as ‘The Dom’ and I am your Services Coordinator/Creche by Day worker at Addictive Pole Fitness and completely devoted pole freak!
Looking forward to seeing you in the studio!!!!
Hi I’m Emily and I started pole dancing in 2014 and I’ve been hooked ever since. Before starting I never could of imagined that I would be able to do a chin up or even walk in the smallest of heels and now I am very proud to say that I can do 3 chin ups in a row and can rock 8″ pleasers while doing incredible tricks I could only have dreamed of at the start.
I did gymnastics for about 6 years throughout school so it’s not surprising I’m obsessed with all things acro and bendy. Handstands, walkovers, rolls and splits are just a few of my favourite things to play with and incorporate into routines.
I have been poling since 2013 and started instructing in early 2017 as part of the Addictive Pole Fitness team. I love instructing and am constantly inspired by my student’s achievements and determination. I especially love troubleshooting those “nemesis” tricks and breaking technique down.
Usually one half of Kat&Adele, doubles performers, I have ventured into solo performing as well. My performances are inspired by characters, costumes and props and I love creating my own pieces to wear and dance with. In 2017 alone, I danced in the Summer Rain, was Belle in a lyrical princess number and got sexy with my beast in a style unnatural to me. I certainly have the performance bug now!

Hi, my name is Monique and I began my poling journey in 2015. In the beginning it was a fun new way to hopefully get fit, however the pole community and everything it has to offer sucked me right in from the start and has now become much more than a fitness routine….it is a passion and an art that continually challenges me to become a better me.

My favorite part of pole is the amazing community of people all supporting and lifting each other up, helping each other to reach their goals….it has taught me to love my body for what it can do, not what it looks like. I have never felt healthier and stronger mentally and physically than I do now.

By day I’m a qualified Counsellor, and more recently am enjoying motherhood after having a year off pole to have my beautiful daughter. I was aching to get back to it and it’s so nice to be back in the studio kicking goals!!……I can’t wait to see you in the studio to start helping you to reach your own pole goals!!!

I have been poling on and off for since 2012. I come from a strong background of dance, participating since the young age of 5, mostly doing Jazz, Hiphop and Cheerleading … and then going on to teach all three genres to kids!
After a little break from dance I wanted to try something a little bit different, so got a group of friends together, headed to a FREE taster class and that was my first of many years of classes to come! I absolutely love pole for the variety of styles and genres there are to explore and its an endless roads of opportunity in your own personal growth and development.
I started teaching pole at APF Underwood in June 2016, then had a bit of a break from teaching to have my baby boy in June 2017 and now very excited to get this opportunity to teach at the brand new APF studio only five months later.
My passion for teaching is seeing my students grow and progress and fall in love with Pole just the way I did xx
Hi my name is Saffron and I’ll be in the creche (child minding) awaiting your little ones while you all nail your pole goals!

I’m originally from London but have recently moved up here from Sydney. I have worked in childcare since 2003 and in that time had two children of my own! I have always loved playing a part in children’s lives and find it a very special and rewarding career. I love craft, messy & sensory play and look forward to bringing elements of my interests into the creche for you children to explore and enjoy.

When I am not spending time with your children in the in-house child minding, you might spot me in a few pole classes! I, like a few of you, am stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing some me time.
Look forward to meeting you either in the Creche or in a pole class
