My name is Kylie & I am the owner of Addictive Pole Fitness Hillcrest.
A few years ago, I had the realisation that I was starting to have all this spare time to myself, something I was definitely not used to. My two boys had grown up and were now off doing their own thing and I now had time to explore new things and find a little bit of myself again.
It was hit and miss for a while, joined a gym, tried belly dancing, I even did roller derby for a little while, but nothing quite stuck… and then I found pole dancing. I had always found pole dancing fascinating and beautiful, so I started to research it a bit more (in secret, shhh don’t tell anyone), there was nothing around my area. I kept checking online every week until finally my prayers were answered. I joined with no hesitation.
I have been pole dancing since 2013 and have fallen madly and deeply in love. From the first time I walked through those doors it just stuck. Yes I felt awkward and shy, I thought I would be to old, I stumbled, I swore, got frustrated at times but I also laughed, smiled, grew confident, learnt to love my body and what it could do and found that little bit of myself that I had been searching for.
I have seen pole dancing change and help so many women. It is a community of women that support and encourage each other, we take pride in watching our pole sisters succeed, no matter how small the victory may be, they are all huge to us.
I have had the honour of watching a beautiful lady take a little studio and make it something monumental. She became our pole mum, she changed lives, inspired women.
So when she gave me the opportunity to do the same thing, there was no question, I became a part of something beautiful and inspiring, I became a pole mum.
Hello fellow pole dancers, (or soon to be dancers) my name is Amanda and I like to call myself Little Miss Panda. I’ve always had a passion for dance and fitness but felt self conscious and insecure at the gym. In search for a fun training environment in 2015, I discovered the world of pole dancing. Initially, just like anyone, I was a bit timid but it didn’t take long for my confidence to build as well as the confidence of the other women around me. We all had fun and encouraged eachother along the way. I fell in love with this sport. Now I’m left inspired to give back to my present and future students exactly what my instructor gave me when I first started. Strength, empowerment and a little tough love to get me where I am today. So time to slap on some Dry Hands and throw on a pair of Pleasers heels and let’s get started! ???? Pole Kisses xxx Amanda aka Little Miss Panda
Hi I’m Monique (Mon), and I am now in my 40’s. I am a single mother of 4 girls and really needed something for myself. So in 2014 after seeing an amazing routine by Jenyne Butterfly I decided I had to try pole dancing….and have been addicted ever since.
My Favorite tricks are the dragontail, Lolo split and anything where you flip! I love that pole dancing has made me more confidant, flexible, stronger, fitter and healthier. It is so much fun and I have developed so many new friendships that the studio just feels like home…..without the whinging teenagers lol.
I’ve been poling since 2015. I fell in love with the sport after always teasing Kylie (Hillcrest Studio Owner) for doing it. She dragged me along to watch a performance night one night, and I was hooked. They way these ladies used their bodies to not only dance but create wonderful shapes and tricks amazed me. I grabbed two gal pals and signed us up for the Taster class, and I was hooked. Pole have given me muscles I didn’t know I had or wanted, picked up my self-confidence and created lasting friendships with girls I’ve met along the way.
Hi, my name is Tracey and I’ve been pole dancing for 3 and a half years. I first discovered pole by accident when I was looking for a new Latin dance class to try and pole classes came up in my google search instead. I immediately booked in for a class and think it was meant to be because I have been obsessed with pole dance ever since! I love everything about pole and a day rarely goes by when I don’t either go to a class, train at home or watch pole videos for inspiration on Instagram and YouTube. As a 45 year old mother of two teenage boys, I at first wondered if I’d be too old for pole dancing, but now I know there’s no such thing as too old for pole!! I might sound obsessed but pole dance really is the best thing I’ve ever done. I look forward to seeing you at the studio soon
Hi my name is Eleanor. I have been dancing since I was three years old in jazz, contemporary and hip-hop. I joined Addictive Pole Fitness in 2015 looking for another challenge. Over the last couple of years I have progressed through the levels and become more confident within myself as a person and a dancer. Addictive Pole Fitness has opened another world of dance for me and has created a passion for creating routines and trick combinations. I look forward to seeing you in the studio.
Hi, my name is Shannon.
My first taste of pole dancing was at a Hens Party – I had so much fun I had to find a studio close to home where I could learn. There are so many aspects to pole dancing. It’s not just what you can do on the pole, its floor work, flexibility, acrobatics, strength and so much more.
Since starting to pole dance both my inside well being and outside appearance has changed – I am more confident and motivated as well as stronger and flexible, and still continuing to learn each and every day. I love everything about pole dancing, and really hope that you will too. I do hope to see you soon at our studio.
